I Just Want to Know

It sounds like a lot of ladies went to see Twilight at midnight. The showing was sold out in 3,000 theatres. I actually went to the Sat morning matinee. I thought it was good. I would even see it again! Of course it did not live up to the book, movies never live up to a good book. Our imaginations can paint things so well. There were a few moments of cheesiness and I wanted more character develpment. Overall I enjoyed it. What did you think? Anyone want to go again? I am also wondering what someone who did not read the book thought of the movie. I wonered if the book kind of filled in the gaps for me and I would have been a little confused if I did not read the book. So tell me, I just want to know!

I saw it Friday night with a few friends and a group of other ladies (totally diehard fans who had a "twilight party" before the movie- complete with twilight jepardy) it got a little crazy...the movie was what i expected super low budget and I laughed the entire time! My favorite part was all the little 12 year old girls screaming whenever edward appeared, so cute! I did really enjoy looking at edward, he's quite enjoyable.

Hey Monica! I sat by a friend who has not read the books. she went to the midnight showing and then again with me the next night. She really liked it. For not having read the book, she thought the movie was well-made and the story intriguing. She didn't laugh at some parts when the rest of us did. Afterward she had a lot of questions--to which we smiled and said, "go read the book!"

I must have been really lucky because the theater crowd I was with was not so full of "screaming teenagers"--something that would have ruined the movie for me. Yes, there were a few cheesy parts, but I thought overall, the acting was good, the story compelling and aesthetically fine. And c'mon! You couldn't take your eyes off of Edward. Good job Rob Pattinson!

Oh--your side pictures are cut off almost completely on my laptop but not on my main PC.

I was surprised that I liked the movie as well as I did. Yes, I had a hard time with Jacob's wig, and a few other low budget scenes... I quite enjoyed it and will be seeing it again with my sis-in-laws on Wednesday.
One time when Edward told Bella that she was his own personal brand of heroine, I heard a man in the audience burst out laughing/scoffing. So yes, it comes with its fair share of cheese. I may need to take the picture you posted and put in in the bottom corner of my desktop. Don't tell.

Hey, I can't find her's anymore. I will let you know if I do, though. It was fun getting to know you, too!

I wouldn't say I loved the movie, but I would see it again. It was interesting to me how they portrayed Edward in the movie, he was almost always brooding, I missed seeing the lighter side of him that was portrayed in the book, joking around and stuff. I was a little disappointed in the sparkliness of Edward, I imagined it quite differently. But overall very enjoyable.

So I went to see it again and it was strange the secod time. The things that bothered me a little the first time bothered me more the second time, but the things I LOVED the first time I LOVED even more the second time. Namely, how dreamy Edward was. I also found out that he (Robert Pattinson) is singing that amazing song when he is saving Bella after James bites her. That made me love him a little more! All in all, I recommend seeing it again because I picked up on so much more than I did the first time, which was great!

I feel the same as you. Good but not as good as the book. Some cheesiness and not enought character develpment. But I still really liked it. We will have to see what they do to New Moon. Yes they are making the next one. I happy! I hope they will get more money to make this one. So it doesn't feel so low budget. I'm going again tomorrow night and I have a feeling I will like even more than the 1st time.

Saw it twice last weekend. Love Edward. He's on my desktop (although this Rob Pattinson guy I don't care for, just Edward). I'm taking Roman this weekend.

I for one, enjoyed the excitement and the squeals at the midnight show, which we lacking the second time I saw it. The energy of the crowd made the whole movie even more enjoyable.

Well I haven't read the books (no time) and I haven't seen the movie either. And I don't mean to be a kill joy but the whole story line seems a bit too "high school drama" for me, especially with how young the characters are. I guess I like sticking with stories that are more realistic that I can apply to my own life; however, it looks like I am the odd one out on this one, sounds like y'all enjoyed both. I will admit though, I am curious about the movie.
